Reminders for Week of 1/22-1/26/24

Dear Parents,

We made it through a crazy weather week! Your children were able to "go with the flow" as adjustments were made to our usual learning schedule, and I am very pleased with what we were able to accomplish. Thank you for your patience!

Please remember to return all hardcover Superkids Reader books on Monday, 1/22. I thank those who already returned them on Friday.

Going forward, there is a Superkids Reader #2 that students will each have in their desks to use at school. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have enough of these in order for me to send home the extra ones for your children to use at home. I realize that many of the students used them faithfully at home and it was quite enriching for those who did to have that extra home practice with the stories that we read and discuss each week together in school. So, for now and possibly for the remainder of the school year,  I will copy the stories and include them with the Homework packets each week...unless I am able to locate additional readers!

The Short story (for fluency) is stapled within the Homework packet. The Main story (for fluency and comprehension) is stapled and will be sent home on Mondays. Please leave it at home and remember how important it is to practice reading these stories daily. They are written in a way that include the spelling pattern we are learning for the week, so they are very important to our first grade curriculum. Thank you for your support!

As always, please refer to the posted Homework Cover Sheet for additional information about the events of the upcoming week as well as the Sunday email blast that usually contains even more information than I can include on my Homework Cover Sheet.

Have a Blessed weekend and week ahead. We are approaching the half way mark of the school year ...Monday will be Day #90, can you believe it?!  Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions!
