NEWS

The doors at the Pre-K wing open at 7:40 AM.  There is a 25 minute window to drop children off as school begins at 8:05.  If they arrive after, they are late and marked "Tardy".  When children arrive late, they walk into a classroom where their peers are already engaged in morning activities and they experience discomfort as they know they are late.  It takes them a while to complete morning procedures as they are concerned that they are not engaged as their peers are.

If you require an early drop off, there is an early arrival room for children from 7:00 AM until 7:40 when they are dismissed to go to their classroom.

I just added a new link to the "Links" page.  The link will take you the the CAS
photo sight SMUGMUG where all of my classroom photos are uploaded for the entire school year.  From now on, all photos will be posted on the CAS sight SMUGMUG.  I will no longer be sharing photos on my webpage.  I hope you enjoy seeing your beautiful children at work and play in Pre-K4!
The food drive for the month of November begins today.  Pre-K students are to bring in boxes of cereal to their classroom.  There is a collection box for the cereal.  Thank you.

Dear Parents,

Pre-K4 will be participating in a service learning project for Stamford’s Animal Control & Care Center at 201 Magee Avenue, Stamford, CT 06901.

A service learning project integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich learning.  Research has shown that teaching young children from an early age to engage in unselfish behaviors and empathize with others can reduce the chances of developing bully like characteristics.

Our goal is to help the pets in our community by collecting and donating supplies to the local animal shelter.  Did you know that approximately 6 to 8 million animals enter shelters nationwide every year?  Our local shelter seeks to provide food and basic care to many homeless pets each year while they wait for their “forever homes.”  A shelter can be a stressful place for pets; we hope that our donations will help to make their time spent there a little less stressful.

It is important to involve your child in the process of selecting items to donate.  Involving your child will make the experience more meaningful and create a lasting impression.

We will be collecting supplies from Monday, March 4th and ending on Wednesday, March 20th.   Please send in items as often as you wish.  There will be collection boxes in the classroom.  A list of suggested supplies can be found on the below.

We hope that this experience will be a rewarding one for you, your child, and our community.

Any donation big or small is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.
