Ms. Carly Damm » Biography

I feel beyond blessed to have received the opportunity to become a part of The Catholic Academy of Stamford, especially during a time when students need support more than ever.  I was raised and currently live in Westchester County.  It is here that I have made many memories with my parents and two older brothers.  Being a part of the community is something I take pride in and plan to also do here in Stamford.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Fairfield University, and ever since then Connecticut has felt like a second home to me.  My experience at Fairfield allowed me to spend four years gaining knowledge about the world, myself, and others.  Here, I was able to combine learning with my Catholic faith and this was something I was not able to pursue in the past.  My goal is to prioritize this type of learning with my students and be seen as a role model, so that they too can become well-rounded lifelong learners.

I am passionate about helping others and it has always been a natural characteristic of mine.  After enrolling at Long Island University for my Masters in School Counseling, I began working at my hometown elementary school with children part time.  Seeing the impact and influence I had on these students was when I knew I had chosen the right career path.  Most recently, I completed a leave replacement as an elementary school counselor at a district in Westchester where managing time between five schools and staying organized were vital to my success.

I also take pride in living an active and healthy lifestyle, which I know is important for adults and children alike for both their physical and mental health.  I look forward to helping my students overcome any obstacles and share in all their achievements.  I could not be more excited to start my next chapter.  I will be dedicated to helping and understanding the needs of students and families at The Catholic Academy of Stamford.
